This weekend was gorgeous, so we took advantage and went up to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for the day yesterday.
As we were driving, I noticed someone up ahead standing at the side of the road, holding a sign. We got closer and I could read, "Will work for Food"
Just as I read the sign, the car in front of us pulled over, and an arm comes out holding a big bag of McDonald's.
It was an elderly gentleman holding the sign, and as I witnessed this exchange, my eyes filled with tears.
The man smiled, and I also noticed he had written "God Bless" on the sign.
My camera was sitting next to me the entire time....how I wish I could have captured that exchange on film.
Nice people with good hearts really do exist. We can't just give up on the human race yet.

Makes you feel all warm and gooey on the inside, huh?
On a side note, I'm not so good with geography and in my head I said, "Whoa, they drove all the way from Illinois to Wisconsin for the weekend. What a haul." Glad I said that on the inside and not the outside.
Hey, I'm nice and you know me...;)
Nope.
We can't.
It must have been in the air, too because I saw a couple of day laborers in 100 debgree heat changing a flat for an elderly lady on the side of the road yesterday. They were smiling and laughing as they worked and putting the mama at ease. You feel blessed when you get to see something like that huh?
Well sometimes the stars align
i dont ever donate or buy food but i swear I change more tires than AAA!
Wow that story gave me goosebumps. I always love to hear about the GOOD deeds becuz so often we only hear the BAD stuff. That was sweet.
A lady on the radio called in this morning about how she did something like this for a guy, asking for $1 for a cheeseburger. So she got him the burger and he got pissed because he wanted the $1 and he threw the burger AWAY!
