Zzzzzzzz...that was too much like work

Sheesh. I just converted my blog over to the new layout type template. I had to go back and forth to add back in all my links, awards, gadgets and gizmos and whos-its and whats-its.

But now my blog has a brand new, fresh look. And I'm not sure if I like it yet or not.

But I'm ready for bed, so off I go....

The Hot Shot in the Sky

I don't normally take pictures of the unsuspecting, but I couldn't resist this time.

During my normal drive home from work one evening, I was treated with a few giggles which watching this guy in front of me.

He was in a convertible Saturn Sky, and obviously thought he was hot shit.

Now, let me mention that it was gray, overcast and rainy.

And he's in a convertible. With the top down.

Wearing sunglasses.

And he was rocking out to some music, strumming his fingers against the steering wheel and bopping his head around (which, I should mention, looked like a bird's nest with the shiny bald spot right in the middle of a ruft of a hair that was blowing in the wind).

He kept peering into his rearview mirror. I'm not sure if he was expecting to see the woman in the car behind him swooning or what. But I most certainly wasn't.

At one point, when he looked back in his mirror, I did say "You are not as cool as you think you are", but he didn't hear me and I don't think he could read lips.

What's grosser than gross?

I'm not even sure how to begin this, as I'm absolutely disgusted.

I took a quick trip to the post office on my lunch break, and as I walked in towards the line, I noticed the last guy in line was doing something with his butt. But his hand was down the back of his pants, scratching around or doing something back there.

I immediately thought - well, that's gross.

And then it got so much worse. I see something flutter down to the ground out of the corner of my eye.

And I'm thinking - what the hell just fluttered from OUT OF HIS PANTS?

So I take my position behind him in line (I think I need to call in hazmat for a high pressure shower to cleanse myself) and notice this...

Unfortunately zoom and quality on cell phones really sucks - but trust me in that I was NOT getting close enough to get a good picture, so I went as far as my zoom would allow and hoped for the best.

Because friends -- what you see there is some sort of paper WITH SHIT ON IT!!!!!!!

No joke. I am 100% dead serious.

This man in front of me (who I overheard telling the clerk that he lost his PO box key (perhaps he should check in his ass?)) just WIPED HIS ASS IN THE UNITED STATES POST OFFICE!!!!!

Got playoffs?

We do!!!!!

Congratulations to the Cubs, the 2008 National League Central Division Champions!!!

We were on our final leg back home from Disney World when we listened to the game on the radio. I'd rather have seen it on TV, but it's nice to know we've got October baseball to look forward to!

So, with that .... be prepared for stories of vacation, a 1200+ mile trip, Disney World and probably more photos than you care to see. ;)

I'll also say - being on vacation sick really sucks, puking in a hotel toilet is no fun, and having your kid get carsick into a bag on the ride home is pretty gross, too.

I'll update more when I can!

What type of passionate woman are you?

Your Passion is Red!

You've got that spark - a good dose of intensity, power, and determination.

You do whatever you want in life ... to hell with what anyone thinks!

With so many interests and loves, you're always running around doing something new.

You have fire in your eyes, and it shows. Bet you're even wearing something red!

What hand gesture are you?

You Are a Heart

Your life philosophy can be summed up as, "Love like you've never been hurt."

Your greatest wish is to have harmony in all of your relationships.

You can't help loving people, even when they're incredibly flawed.

You are a true romantic, and you are willing to give almost anyone a second chance.

Curious Minds Want to Know....

Would you rather....

- Be called a racist or a traitor to your country?

- Be spanked or be put on a restriction (on your favorite thing to do)?

- Get even or get over it?

- Not be able to use your phone or your e-mail?

- Be stranded on an island alone or with someone you hate?

Go on! Let's see what you have to say.

Ponder This

Some questions I came across online.

They might make you think. Or just giggle.

Is it possible to be totally partial?

If a parsley farmer is sued, can they garnish his wages?

Would a fly without wings be called a walk?

Why is the word abbreviation so long?

Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?

That's what I'm talkin about

Finally!!

A Cubs win and a Brewers loss in the same night!

And winning 2 of 3 games against St. Louis while on the road .... yeah, we'll take it.

Cubs are now on a hurricane holiday while Ike blows through Texas. We might see baseball resumed on Sunday in Houston.

Here's to hoping Ike isn't packing as big of a punch as they were estimating.

Come eat me, I'm a delicious pizza

I don't know why, but the first time I saw this, I totally laughed out loud.

Yes, I might be a little obsessed

But I'm a fan. And I'm a fan for life.

And it's been 100 years.

But let me tell you .... the Cubs are living up to the running joke that I get tired of hearing.

You know. CUBS

Come
Useless
By
September

Yeah, real ingenious and witty, isn't it? (barf.)

So, whenever I hear that from someone, I want to jab a shattered baseball bat in their eye.

But it's even worse to hear when the Cubs are nearly being useless. Or perhaps it's just that Lou seems to be an entirely different manager at this point in the season. What the heck is up with that? Huh, Lou? Care to explain? Let's meet and do lunch and you can explain. And I can tell you that I don't care to have my heart broken (again), nor do I care to see my first grader's heart broken over his absolute favorite team in the whole wide world.

So, let's figure this out. Let's see the team that was kicking ass back in July and August.

A winning World Series ball club doesn't get there because their biggest threat keeps losing.

We need some WINS!!!!

End of the Week Update

First of all, thank you to everyone who left get well wishes for my little girl. She was very sick, and at one point was not eating, drinking and continue to vomit, so I feared we'd have to admit her into the hospital. Thankfully, the meds did their job and she is now feeling MUCH better. She's got a few more days left of her meds, but we're happy to have our little girl back (even if that does mean she's getting into trouble again!).

It has been a busy week; running school supplies to the classes and sending the oldest off to 1st grade. His first day was yesterday, and he came home happy and excited to share all about how the day went. Little girl starts preschool on Monday, but she got to visit her classroom and meet her teacher yesterday. Very exciting!

I'm feeling a bit under the weather. My allergies have been an issue and I went in to donate blood yesterday, and was turned away because my iron is much too low. Perhaps that explains the frequent headaches these days. I know it explains why I needed to go to bed at 9:30 last night, sleep 9 straight hours and I *still* feel like I could go back to bed. So, I'm making some diet changes and will be taking an iron supplement as well.

And then there's baseball. Sadly, the Cubs have been in a slump, but thankfully, so has Milwaukee. This has helped us get a bit closer to the post-season, but we've got to see some wins SOON!

I feel so helpless

My daughter is really sick. The sickest I've ever seen her, and it's breaking my heart. She's got a urinary tract infection and is dealing with headaches and vomitting. We made a late night trip to the urgent care last night, so I'm running on 3 hours of sleep.

I'm too worried to be tired, though.

Keep her in your thoughts & prayers.
