Moose Knuckles & Ice Cream

So it's no surprise that I'm a HUGE NKOTB fan and that I've seen them 4 times since last October. It's also no surprise that I love taking pictures, and what better things to take pictures of then those 5 Bad Brothers from the Beantown Land?

The last concert I went to was at the end of June. I took a whole load of photos, but never did get around to uploading them or viewing them all on the computer. Sure, I reviewed them on the camera itself, but we're taking a 2x2 screen here....

Imagine my suprise when I come across the money shot. So I did what any other blogger/Twitter whore would do .... I twitpic'd it.

And my fellow Blockheads took to that photo like flies to a fresh pile of ... yeah, they REALLY liked it. It was RT'd (retweeted for those of you born yesterday not familiar with Twitter) countless times and the views continued to increase.

Imagine my surprise when I was reviewing my @replies and came across one from JON OF NKOTB!!! While my heart nearly exploded right out of my chest, I attempted to read the HUNDREDS of @replies that were coming in at an alarming rate.

The views on that photo skyrocketed and it's still cruising through cyberspace. It's currently on it's way to almost 20,000 views.

What was this photo you ask? I will simply say MOOSE KNUCKLE.

Fast forward to this week, while I'm driving home from work, having a phone conversation with my BFF. She explains that she was getting caught up on Twitter and had no clue what the heck I was talking about in regards to the Moose Knuckle. She said she thought maybe it was a new flavor ice cream.

And while I'm laughing at her, I tell her, "Yeah, you can find it right next to the Padussy flavor...."

Boobs & Those 5 Hot Men

Keep the submissions for the Boob-A-Thon comin'! Round 4 may be posted sooner that I thought, as I've already gotten 9 new submissions in!

I originally said I would keep the Boob-A-Thon open until March 30th, however, I will probably extend it another couple days until April 1st.

So, what are you waiting for?!?

SHOW ME YOUR BOOBS!

snarkysarah AT gmail DOT com

And with that - I am just 6 days away from meeting that fabulous Beantown crew of 5. I am keeping my cool (so far), but all bets are off next week.

I can just imagine the eye-rolling and name-calling that will ensue when I'm over at my BFF's house having my hair straightened on the day of the big event. But then I'll just kindly remind her that I may or may not still have incriminating photos of her. Besides with Freddie and the Indian.

And for now - I leave you with this:

So do it! Send me your boob submissions now!!!!!

No Love for NKOTB

My son, the 7 year old little shithead that he is, has taken to making fun of me and my love for NKOTB. I can thank his father for that.

Anywho....the other day in the car, NKOTB is playing and my son in the backseat, tells me again that they are the "Old Farts on the Block" (hardy har har ... sooooo funny!)

So, my mom, who's in the car with us, tells him that word (fart) is really not appropriate, and that it's kind of like a bad word.

There's some playful banter, and I tell him maybe he should use the word "air biscuit" instead. The talk of NKOTB fizzles out, when suddenly he pipes up again:

"Okay, so you like the Old Air-Biscuits on the Block then"

*sigh*

Boob-A-Thon 2009

As I posted recently, I am trying to decide just what organization(s) I will be donating to this year.

I have made the decision that the first organization will be Susan G. Komen for the cure of breast cancer.

I supported this organization last year when my good friend Jules participated in the 3-day walk in Chicago. I kicked it up a notch and decided to do something fun in means of fundraising. I hosted the first ever Snarkalicious Boob-A-Thon, which between direct donations and matching contributions, raised $300.

This year, I have decided that I will be supporting Susan G. Komen again, this time in honor of Betty Wood.

Some of you are probably wondering just who this woman is, and it's not someone I know personally (though I would have liked to, however, I did meet her at a NKOTB Parents autograph signing at the mall way back in the day). She is the mother of NKOTB member, Danny Wood.

It's no secret that I am addicted and love all things New Kids. Now I can take that love and do good with it.

With that said, I will also need your help. Please consider participating in the 2009 Snarkalicious Boob-A-Thon. Send a photo of your "girls" (tasteful, please!) and for every unique set, I will donate $2. Guys can participate, too (did you that men can also get breast cancer?).

(feel free to take the above imagine and link on your site)

I will post the photos weekly (I can link you, or you can submit anonymously) and keep a running tab of money raised.

If you don't feel like you can participate by showing your boobs (again, tasteful - cleavage is okay, nipples not so much), please consider making a direct donation. You can also help by donating prizes to be awarded to Boob-A-Thon participants (contact me if you'd like to help).

The stipulations are:
1) Submission must be tasteful
2) Submission must be your own (please don't send me photos of your neighbor's rack - I don't want any nasty grams in my inbox)
3) Only one submission per person (if you are undecided and want to send a couple photos, that is fine, but I will select which to post, and it will only be counted as 1 monetary amount)
4) While I am hoping that I will get more submissions than I can keep up with, please understand that I am not a millionaire (plus, I have a NKOTB habit to support!) and will need to cap off the donations at the amount that best suits myself and my family

How to participate:
Email me at snarkysarah AT gmail DOT com
Include your name (or blog name) and if you would like to be linked or not

Keep yourself healthy, check your "girls" and Remember Betty...

There's probably a meeting for people like me

Does anyone know if there's a NKOTBaholics Anonymous? Because I might need one.

You can see why here.

I heart NKOTB 4-ever!

Back when I was just a little-bit, I fell head over heels for the New Kids on the Block. I was madly in love with Joey Joe, and it was my (and every other girls) dream to meet this fab 5. Unfortunately, the closest I ever got to meeting the Kids, was meeting their folks.

My mom took me to the mall and I got the autographs of many of the parents. While it wasn't the Kids themselves, it was still very exciting for me.

I did get to attend one concert when I was 10 or 11. My folks took me and one of my girlfriends. We were so far back that we could barely make out the faces of our favorites, but we were there, and we were screaming, and that was all that mattered.

Then, I started getting older and the New Kids broke up, and I moved on (I think I was beginning my love affair with Luke Perry on Beverly Hills 90210).

So, fast forward another 15-17 years until early this year. I hear a rumor that the New Kids on the Block are reuniting. Then - they'll be on the Today Show. I waited with bated breath, until - YES, the rumor is true. The New Kids on the Block are back together, they are making an album and will be touring.

Holy Shit.

In May, I purchased the concert tickets and started my countdown.

October 4, 2008 will forever be one of the craziest, silliest, most awesome nights of my life. It reopened that can of worms, and brought back the memories of my childhood, loving & wanting all things New Kids.

When myself and 4 friends made our way to the concert that night, we sang along to The Right Stuff, and Cover Girl and all the songs that made us fall in love in the first place.

When we arrived at the venue, we excitedly took our place in line and waited to get in. As we walked down the aisle towards the floor to find our seats, we giggled anxiously.

When we found our seats, we exclaimed at how good they really were. Little did we know then, that they'd be even better later that night.

So, we sit and wait and then we are treated to Colby O'Donis and Natasha Bedingfield as opening acts. Somewhere around 9pm, the lights go down again and at this point I'm nearly holding my breath, and I'm squeezing my hands together in anticipation .....

and then ...... they appear.

The crowd (I've never seen so many women in one place in my entire life!!) is going crazy and for a moment I think -- it's THEM ..... and again I'm taken back and all the emotion and love and appreciation for them comes back threefold.

It was an amazing show .... they performed several songs from a much smaller 'B' stage which ended up being just a few rows away from us. And then imagine our surprise as they used the walkway directly behind our seats and we reached out to touch all of them....

Thank you Joe, Jordan, Donnie, Danny and Jon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Heartbroken, but oh so in love.....

While my Cubbies lost their 3rd in a row -- and final game for the postseason -- I was rockin' the night away with New Kids on the Block.

And let me tell you -- it's a great thing that I was having the most AMAZING time of my life, otherwise I would be severely depressed today.

But I am still riding the high of the concert - because -

I TOUCHED ALL OF THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!

Yes, TOUCHED them. Felt their sweaty, dampness.

I promise to share the story of how, and photos - soon!

Dear Joe, Jordan, Jon, Donnie & Danny; I'll see you in October!

Yes, that's right. I heart NKOTB (New Kids on the Block for those of you in the dark ages). And I just scored FLOOR SEATS for their October concert here in Chicagoland.

I saw them live in concert over 15 years ago at the same venue. I was over the moon with excitement then and I surely am now!!!
